Bob and Ellie Tupper will be at Dynasty Brewing July 17 from 3 to 8 PM to enjoy the first batch of their gold Medal winning Tuppers’ Hop Pocket Ale in almost five years. They’ll also be signing their book Drinking In the Culture: Tuppers’ Guide to Exploring Great Beers in Europe at a significant discount off the list price.
Come out and talk about the Hop Pocket, beer travel in the Mid Atlantic and Europe and what’s happened to beer in the 20 years since Tuppers’ was the hoppiest thing around.
It’s been several years since anyone has brewed a batch of Tuppers’ Hop Pocket Ale, winner of a gold metal at the GBBF in the ’90s when well hopped beers were rare and almost non-existent in the east. We’ve collaborated with Dynasty’s head brewer Favio Garcia, the brewer who produced the last batch of Tuppers’ Hop Pocket at Old Dominion to reproduce an authentic version of the original. Dynasty in in Ashburn, Virginia– almost within walking distance of the Old Dominion brewery that brewed the first batch just over 25 years ago. It’s scheduled to go on tap at the brewery on July 4th.
At Mad Fox Brewery in Falls Church on December 5, 2018, Bob Tupper hosts the 31st annual Holiday Tasting of a series that started over three decades ago at Washington’s legendary Brickskeller Saloon. It is recognized as the longest running regularly scheduled beer tasting series in the world. Ten brewers not only send their special holiday beers to the event, but attend and speak about the beers as well. We know of no other public event that brings together so many of the leaders of the craft beer revolution in our area.
Each brewer/owner will discuss their beer and answer any questions that you have. Don’t miss the rare opportunity to meet and talk to the people who spend their lives providing you with great beer.
Cost is $55 per person. Get your tickets here before it sells out!
